27 November 2014 - Thursday

Held on 13 November 2014 at ATO Congresium Ankara, 2nd Technological Development Areas Summit was opened with the ceremony held with the attendance of the Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Fikri IŞIK.

In his speech, the Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Fikri IŞIK said that the most important way of taking share from the global market was to develop innovation based technology. Mentioning that they provide significant supports to the technology development areas and R&D centers, Minister IŞIK expressed that “Turkey is one of the countries to provide these centers this much support for the time being. 40% of 100 TL expenditure in this area is covered by the state while 60% is covered by the company.

Minister IŞIK added that “We have adopted a principle decision with our Minister of Finance; we will elaborate on this decision. Involvement of the field applications of the research at the technology development areas into the R&D work to a certain degree, at the least. We do not want to take steps to turn the skilled workforce against the work. We will carry out a serious work to avoid this and we will have increased R&D work a little more. In other words, we will have provided a little more support to the techno parks.”

AKGUN Chairman of the Board of Directors and Black Sea Technical University Techno City Entrepreneur Temel AKGUN attended to the opening of the summit.

Congratulating the executives of successful technology development areas, AKGUN examined the project displays of the companies operating at the technology development areas along with the participants with him after the ceremony.
