What is the Certificate of Domestic Goods?
Certificate of Domestic Goods is a certificate given only to the domestic manufacturers by the chambers and stock exchanges affiliated to TOBB (Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey), taking into consideration the industrial registry reports and capacity reports and it shows that the corresponding product is a Turkish product. The communiqué of the Certificate of Domestic Goods was has entered into force by being published in the Official Gazette dated 13th of September, 2014 no. 29118 by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology. The application principles of the mentioned notification have entered into force 5th of November, 2014 with the approval of Board of Directors of TOBB (Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey). The issuance of this certificate and the inspection of the products are realized by T.C. Republic of Turkey), Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology. And the chambers, on which the institution which is interested in applying for the domestic goods is depending, controls the conditions for the issuance of the certificate of domestic goods. An automation system has been established by TOBB (Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey) in order to provide to follow-up and prevent fraud of the institutions that have received the certificate of domestic goods and the documents which are obtained through such system are transmitted to the related ministry in 6-month periods.
Certificate of Domestic Goods and Its Importance
One of the conditions for participation in the military tenders announced by public institutions and organizations is that the company has a certificate of domestic goods. As is known, proving the brand of “made in turkey” in real meaning is possible if and only if a certificate of domestic goods is obtained.
