Marmara University Career Development Summit was held on 30 May 2021. Career Development Summit united senior executives of major companies in the business world with the students. Professional names of the business life gave speeches at the event where developing and changing business life was put under the microscope, referring to their experience in business life, the strategies of the companies, their fields of activity, problems in the sector and solution proposals.
Mr. Ahmet Hamdi ATALAY, our Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, also attended the summit as a speaker. Mr. ATALAY reported what he has been doing since his university life, his experiences and knowledge in business life, qualifications needed in business, his understanding of business ethics and its aspects that make a difference.
Emphasizing the importance and value of the education system in Turkey at his speech, Mr. ATALAY stated that the universities, educational institutions, teaching assistants, academicians, physical opportunities and campuses in Turkey are not undeveloped.
Telling young people to care about the programs such as ERASMUS etc., he underlined that what is needed is to get to know different cultures and to be in different environments.
Emphasizing that “Turkish engineers are the best engineers in the world”, Mr. Ahmet Hamdi ATALAY described engineering as problem solving art. He also noted that young people need to progress by denominating the challenges and problems faced by them as opportunities.
Our Deputy Chairman of the Board also gave advice to the engineers of the future so that they can lead their careers as “Be smart, make a difference, add value to your place, be aware of the reason for your existence, do not abandon straightforwardness and do not leave the right path, be honest and reliable.”.
Meeting with the new generation, AKGUN that produces solutions in the field of end-to-end computing both shares its experiences with young people and proceeds rapidly on its way with their energy.
